About

A new international festival has made its way to the Jerusalem scene.

From the creative house of The Israel Festival comes The Jerusalem Jazz Festival, under the artistic direction of Avishai Cohen, world renowned trumpet player who has brought his vast jazz experience to bear, with fascinating variety and artistic color.

Initiated and supported by The Jerusalem Foundation, The Jerusalem Jazz Festival is an international flagship project of the Israel Festival, in collaboration with two other prestigious and respected Jerusalem institutions, The Israel Museum and the Yellow Submarine, both known for their high quality cultural, art and music productions.

The Jerusalem Jazz Festival combines music with multi-disciplinary art, the sights and sounds of a wide array of styles, cultures and traditions, unique encounters between fascinating artists against the spectacular backdrop of the Israel Museum galleries. The excitement continues every night with lively jam sessions that are open to the public, free of charge, at the Yellow Submarine.

With leading jazz artists from Israel and abroad, the artistic program includes original productions and first-time performers, new compositions alongside classics, special collaborations and unusual connections between leading Israeli and international musicians. The encounter between music and art makes for a unique interaction, enriching both mediums.

The Jerusalem Jazz Festival is proud to launch the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of The Jerusalem Foundation, whose work can be seen in every corner of the city, always shaping its dynamic, pluralistic character and contributing to the quality of life of its residents and visitors.
